Director Sam Raimi, who directed the trilogy of Spider-Man films starring Tobey Maguire, spoke regarding the popularity of the main character’s dance in the third part. In an interview with Fandom, he noted that this episode was deliberately made funny.

Sam Raimi:

“In fact, we wanted to make this moment funny. This is how loser Peter Parker imagines what it’s like to be evil. But he is so downtrodden that he imagines it that way.
