Spider-Man 2 runs at 4K/60 with ray tracing on PS5 Pro

Insomniac Games previously confirmed that Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart will take advantage of the PS5 Pro’s power, but a new post on PlayStation Blog Revealed the expected performance of these titles on the new platform.

Insomniac’s director of core technology, Mike Fitzgerald, describes it as a combination of the “clear” 4K resolution of Fidelity mode and ray tracing at 60 frames per second of Performance mode, meaning it’s a mix of the best of both worlds for these titles.

The Performance Pro option will also be available in all Insomniac titles on PS5, including Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered and Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales.

Fitzgerald confirmed that the studio is excited to “spend more time looking at new ways that PS5 Pro can be leveraged in both these current titles and future games like Marvel’s Wolverine.”

It is worth noting that there is no specific release date for Marvel’s Wolverine, although the huge leaks that affected Insomniac last year indicated that the target date is 2026.
