New Delhi: Spice Jet has announced that it has increased the monthly salary of its pilots to Rs 7.5 lakh. This is the pay for flying 75 hours per month.

The pay hike for the pilots was announced at SpiceJet’s 18th anniversary function. Officials informed that the salary increase has been effective from May 16.

There has been a proportionate increase in the salaries of coaches and first officers. SpiceJet had earlier revised the salaries of the pilots last November. A monthly flight of 80 hours was fixed at Rs 7 lakh then.

Also, the airline has announced a monthly loyalty reward of up to ₹1,00,000 per month for its captains, which will be in addition to their salary.

Apart from salary increase, SpiceJet has also introduced royalty reward. The monthly royalty is up to Rs.1 lakh.

Spice Jet employees had earlier gone on strike due to delayed salary. SpiceJet Chairman and Managing Director Ajay Singh told workers on the anniversary that the company is on the path to a revival by reducing liabilities.

As part of the 18th anniversary day, SpiceJet has also come up with an offer to travel at low fares. SpiceJet offers domestic flights starting at Rs.1818. The offer is said to be available on Bengaluru-Goa and Mumbai-Goa routes.
