The changes will affect approximately 450 kilometers of state roads and 12 bridges.

The largest construction projects this season are the section of the Vidzeme Highway (A2) from Melturi to Berzkrogs, where the reconstruction started last year will be completed, as well as the continuation of work on the Riga Bypass Road (A5) in Babite.

There will be traffic restrictions once more in both areas.

On regional roads, the largest works are planned in Kurzeme – on the Ventspils – Dundaga road (P77) from Ventspils to Ance, in Vidzeme – on the Smiltene – Valka road (P24) from Smiltene to the turn to Meri.
A new bridge over the Salaca will be built in Salacgriva.

To improve traffic safety, two traffic intersections will be reconstructed. The intersection of the roads Inciems – Sigulda – Kegums (P8) and Riga – Ergli (P4) in Suntaži, Ogre region (47.9–48.1 km) will be converted into a roundregarding.

Also this year, changes are planned in the organization of traffic on the section of the Vidzeme Highway (A2) from the border with Riga to Garkalne. A new turn signal system will be installed throughout the area to make it easier for drivers to understand, and some corners will be closed.

Construction work has already begun on seven sections of roads and three bridges. The greatest traffic restrictions due to repairs are currently in effect on the regional roads Ventspils – Kolka (P124) near Ventspils, Kandava – Saldus (P109) on the Zante – Zemite section and on the Smiltene – Valka section (P24) near Smiltene.
