Speed 200 km / h, comfortable ride for 400 people; Etihad Travel Train by the end of 2024

Abu Dhabi: A test train has been launched on Etihad Rail, the UAE’s dream project. The test flight was from Abu Dhabi to Dubai.

By the end of 2024, passenger trains will be running across the country. It is also planned to connect with GCC Rail later. Etihad Rail has also released the first picture of a passenger train. Etihad Rail, which connects all seven emirates, initially gave priority to freight, but announced in December that it would start passenger service.

A passenger train traveling at a speed of 200 km per hour can carry up to 400 passengers. The track connects 11 cities and regions of the country from Al Zila in the west to Fujairah in the north. The distance between the emirates will be bridged as the passenger train becomes a reality.

Approaching emirates

The journey time from Abu Dhabi to Dubai is 50 minutes and to Fujairah is 100 minutes. The ticket will be unified so that it can be used on existing public transport. Passengers can also use the park and rides on this ticket. The safer, faster and more convenient Etihad Rail will bring cities and people closer together.

You can reach your destination on time without getting stuck in traffic. The first phase was completed in 2016 and started freight traffic between Abu Dhabi cities. The 1,200 km stretch will have stations from Sila near the UAE-Saudi border to Fujairah on the east coast. It is estimated that by 2030, 3.65 crore people will be traveling annually. It will also provide employment to 9000 people.

This trip is special

Ahmed Al Hashimi, executive director of Etihad Rail Passenger, said the stations, which combine culture and heritage, are set to tell the region’s history. The interior of the bogie, which is equipped with an innovative model, has Wi-Fi, charging, music and a dining room.

Ticket prices will be affordable for families, tourists and workers. The railway line is designed to take you through the beauty of the cities, mountains and deserts of the UAE.

Eco-friendly model stations will also accelerate the development of the respective areas. The route passes parallel to Emirates Road via Al Maktoum International Airport and near Expo Road.
