Spectacular Accident Leaves Driver Injured in Wasseige: Emergency Response and Recovery

2023-11-18 10:13:00

During the night from Friday to Saturday around 4:20 a.m., a spectacular accident left a person injured on the road from Wasseige to Hanret. The driver of a Peugeot Partner van dozed off at the wheel. The vehicle then left its trajectory to hit the gable of a house behind which there was a bathroom.

Firefighters from the NAGE zone of the Éghezée station, led by Captain Olivier Gilson, went to the scene with a pumper, a marking vehicle and an ambulance. Injured not too seriously, the driver was admitted to the Saint-Luc clinic in Bouge. Given the damage to the gable and the risk of collapse, firefighters had to shore up the corner of the building which suffered significant damage. A police team from the Orneau-Mehaigne area took charge of the findings while the Cassart breakdown repairer in Bovesse removed the damaged car.
