Elaf from Beirut: After the spread of the coronavirus mutant “Omicron” in various countries of the world, experts began to express concern regarding the subspecies, which he called “BA.2”.
The Israeli newspaper “Jerusalem Post” said that the subspecies regarding Omicron”..2 ” has become the widespread breed in many countries, including Denmark, the United Kingdom, India and South Africa.
According to the report of the British newspaper “Financial Times”, issued on February 3, the subspecies contains up to 27 mutations that are not present in the original متحh متح mutant”..1″.
The WHO is currently investigating this strain as “alarming”, as is the case with all Omicron sub-strains.
In this regard, Dorit Nitzan, who Regional Emergency Director, stated that “the expected path is that BA.2 The New Breed will become dominant in the world, where once it exceeds a certain threshold it will become dominant, as we have observed in Denmark and the UK”.
However, Nitzan said ” there does not appear to be a risk of reinfection for those who have been infected with the original Omicron mutant..1″.
In terms of differences between BA.1 ANDBA.2, Nitzan explained that”the most notable difference currently is the transmissibility of the sub-strain, as it is transmitted from person to person faster”.
