Specialized medical care reaches more than 300 residents of Bañado Tacumbú

Asuncion, IP Agency.- The Medical Care Day for Women in Bañado Tacumbú benefited some 350 people, including children and adolescents from 12 areas, who attended the Health for All Mutual Aid Center and the San Felipe Family Health Unit.

It was organized by the Ministry of Public Works, through the Rehabilitation and Housing Program of Bañado Sur in Asunción, Tacumbú Neighborhood (PRVBT) and the Ministry of Public Health and Social Welfare, in cooperation with various entities such as the Paraguayan Center for Population Studies, local medical teams, the Ministry of the Interior, the National Police and the Union of Hairdressers of Paraguay.

On this occasion, vaccination services, Pap smears, STI tests, specialist consultations, contraceptive methods, psychological care, electrocardiograms, clinical analyses, dental care and pharmacy were provided.

In addition, talks were given on violence prevention and family planning, as well as hairdressing services and documentation procedures, through the initiative that facilitates access to health care in the community itself, avoiding long trips and is especially advantageous for mothers with small children.

Engineer Pedro Cardozo, coordinator of the Rehabilitation and Housing Program of Bañado Sur – Barrio Tacumbú (PRVBT) of the MOPC and Dr. Richard Kennedy, director of USF San Miguel, highlighted the institutional collaboration and thanked the massive participation.

In turn, the director of the Eighteenth Sanitary Region Capital Area, Oscar Fernández, stressed the importance of bringing health services closer to the population and encouraged free check-ups to promote a healthy lifestyle.

CAMSAT and APUF-CAMSAT (Permanent Assembly United for the Strip) were instrumental in the organization, providing infrastructure and conducting door-to-door canvassing.

Tamara Bobadilla, a beneficiary of the program, expressed her gratitude and proposed carrying out these activities monthly to maintain the continuity of the services.
