Asunción, IP Agency.- With the participation of national and international specialists, the Ministry of Labor organizes a seminar to address the incidences of climate change on health and safety at work. It will be this Thursday from 8:00 to 12:00, at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, in Asunción.
This activity is part of the commemoration of the International Day for Safety and Health at Work.
The idea is to address the repercussions of climate change on occupational health and safety, with a focus on preventing and mitigating risks for workers. This becomes essential in a context of climate variability that translates into extreme temperature conditions, atmospheric pollution, extreme weather events and the spread of vector-borne diseases, among other challenges that affect the work environment.
The opening of the seminar will be led by the Minister of Labor, Mónica Recalde, who will present the Work Safe program on the occasion. This program seeks to promote a safe work environment through the prevention and control of risks, as well as the promotion of occupational safety and health.
During the event, panels will be held by local and international specialists that will address topics such as the impact of climate change at work, occupational diseases and accidents, as well as national regulations and processes in occupational health and safety.
The seminar will be held in two modalities: in-person and closed, aimed at professionals in the field of health and safety at work, and virtual, open to the general public through prior registration at this link: https://zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_HYG3MrYATdmqUKxKkMSNzw#/registration
It is important to highlight that April 28 marks the National and International Day for Safety and Health at Work, with the aim of raising awareness regarding the prevention of workplace accidents and occupational diseases throughout the world.
This campaign seeks to raise awareness among both employers and workers regarding the importance of reducing the number of work-related deaths and injuries, reported the Mtess.
