On Friday, June 23, the Swiss Museum of Transport opens, in collaboration with Porsche, a special exhibition dedicated to the 75th anniversary of the sports car brand from Stuttgart. “Driven by Dreams. 75 years of Porsche sports cars”, this is the title of the temporary exhibition that can be admired in Lucerne until January 2024. It presents more than seven decades of exceptional sports cars and the links between the Porsche brand to Switzerland. This presentation at the Museum of Transport is part of the international touring exhibition of the Porsche Museum Stuttgart.

The exhibition is divided into different themes: history, motorsport, art, technology and innovation. In addition to the exhibits from the Porsche Museum, it highlights the people who, behind the scenes, make the strength of the brand. People who, like Ferry Porsche, firmly believed in their dreams. The dream of achieving success and realizing great ideas. The stories of Swiss or foreign personalities are linked to the different thematic islands.

We present to you among others, in connection with a Porsche 356/2 Gmünd Cabriolet, the Zurich resident Jolantha Maria Tschudi. She was the first person in the world to acquire a production Porsche vehicle, the “Beutler convertible”, with chassis number 356/2-002. Other protagonists of the exhibition include Wolfgang Porsche, Jo Siffert, Oliver Blume and the American artist Richard Phillips, creator of the Porsche Taycan Artcar, which was auctioned for a good cause in Switzerland in 2021.

In 2023, Porsche not only celebrates 75 years of existence: 2023 also marks the 60th anniversary of the Porsche 911. As a tribute to this iconic sports car, the exhibition presents a number of Porsche 911s from different generations.
