The Spanish region of Castilla y León is to become a test laboratory for the anti-abortion policy of the extreme right-wing party Vox. Starting this week, the heartbeat of the embryo and a so-called 4D ultrasound – moving 3D images – are to be demonstrated to pregnant women as part of “birth promotion and family support” at the hospitals in the autonomous region. The Vox sits there as a junior partner of the conservative Partido Popular (PP) in the regional government.
