Spanish-language content giant TelevisaUnivision named Ignacio “Nacho” Meyer president

The Hispanic network TelevisaUnivision announced on Monday the appointment of Ignacio “Nacho” Meyer as president of US Networks, a key division for “the expansion and transformation of the sector in the US,” as the company said in a statement.

The executive, with more than twenty years of experience in the media and the entertainment industry, ten of them at Univision, will lead this key division from Miami (Florida) in which he will apply a strategy focused on “content, associations and media”, as noted the Hispanic television network.

“Meyer has a proven track record of creating and operating growth initiatives, driving innovation and business development,” he added.

It has helped “consolidate Univision as a key partner for the Latin music and entertainment ecosystem, providing great service to audiences, creating commercial opportunities and bringing to life the best productions of today,” the president of Univision said in the statement. TelevisaUnivision, Wade Davis, to whom Meyer will report directly in his new position.

The promoted executive comes from being in charge of the Music and Non-Scripted Entertainment division at TelevisaUnivision, promoting the group’s global strategy, and before that he led special non-fiction programs, among them the music awards Premio Lo Nuestro, Premios Juventud, Latin Grammy , as well as reality shows and other special spaces.

Meyer also led strategic business efforts for the US Music, Music Publishing, Sound Design and Artist Development teams.

“I am committed to driving innovation across our networks and brands, along with our top-tier leadership and the best teams in the industry, including our content engine in Mexico,” said the executive.
