Spain’s government will ban working outdoors during heat waves in the future: Labor Minister Yolanda Díaz announced ahead of a special cabinet meeting on Thursday that she wanted to change the standards for occupational safety in labor law in an expedited procedure. The new working guidelines will come into effect as soon as the state weather agency Aemet issues an orange or red heat alert. Depending on the region, orange starts at 37 to 40 degrees, red at 40 to 44 degrees.
