Spain won the FIFA U-20 Women’s World Cup by defeating Japan 3-1 in the final match at San Jose National Stadium in Costa Rica, which hosted the tournament.
The two teams had also met in the previous edition in 2018, and the Japanese women won 3-1 as well.
This is Spain’s first title in the tournament, as Germany and the United States are the most crowned with 3 titles each, compared to North Korea’s and Japan’s.
The Brazilian women came to third place by beating the Dutch women 4-1.
