ENGLAND players will pocket 1 billion pounds sterling or around Rp20 trillion if they beat Spain early tomorrow morning, Monday (15/7) in the Euro 2024 final. Meanwhile, coach Gareth Southgate has already pocketed a bonus of 2 million pounds sterling or Rp41 billion for taking the team to the final of the four-yearly European championship.
After coming under scrutiny for their less than convincing performances in the group stage, the squad Three Lions instead managed to answer the criticism by reaching the final. Harry Kane and his friends eliminated the Netherlands 2-1 in a dramatic semifinal match, Thursday (11/7).
Southgate has challenged his critics to lead England to a second successive Euro final. Last month, British media, The Sun reported that he would receive a bonus of 4 million pounds sterling if England won the tournament. Now, reports The Sun confirmed that Southgate had earned £2m or half of what he was promised for leading England to the final.
Still in the same report, players might earn 1 billion pounds sterling from salary increases, bonuses and sponsorship deals. Jude Bellingham is one of the players who might earn a fairly large salary.
He has attracted interest from sponsors, especially following deciding to move to Real Madrid. If England win the title, the 21-year-old will receive a total bonus of more than £400 million.
Other reports suggest that Harry Kane, Bukayo Saka, Phil Foden, Cole Palmer and Kobbie Mainoo will receive bonuses approaching £100m. Several other players will receive bonuses averaging around £25m.

“Winning the Euros would make England close to a multi-billion pound team in terms of future revenues,” said Marcel Knobil, corporate brand expert.
The popular ‘football’s coming home’ campaign through the song titled ‘Three Lions’ by David Baddiel and Frank Skinner is expected by England fans to be more than just a chant sung during the match. The jargon is acceptable because England can become the champion of the Euro for the first time.
England advanced to the final by beating Slovakia, Switzerland and the Netherlands. La Furia Roja advanced to the final following eliminating Georgia, Germany and France.
