Spain: She falls from a cruise ship en route to Palma de Mallorca

Departing from Barcelona for Palma de Mallorca, the Azamara Quest made an emergency call following a passenger fell into the water.

It was two o’clock in the morning from Sunday to Monday when the Azamara Quest, an imposing cruise ship which linked Barcelona to Palma de Mallorca, alerted the maritime rescue services to try to find a woman who had fallen into the water.

The boat was then 75 miles off the coast of Mallorca and stopped the machinery and made several round trips in the area to try to find the middle-aged woman whose nationality has not been revealed.

Guest overboard from Azamara Quest #cruise ship at 2 a.m. last night, shortly following formerly owned @RoyalCaribbean ship left Barcelona. Doesn’t seem that the ship made much of a search for the missing passenger? This story gets old, once more no automatic man overboard system! pic.twitter.com/aIjRZWzvwX

Arrived on the spot, the help, reinforced by two helicopters, had no more success than the members of the Azamara Quest. Which have launched a lifeboat so that the unfortunate can take refuge there if he were to cross his path.

All the boats in the area were alerted but, at the end of the day on Monday, the unsuccessful searches were stopped.

There is little chance of finding the missing person alive. The lifeboat was found empty..
