His arrival at Wolves went almost unnoticed this summer as all the attention was on Rudy Gobert’s transfer and Karl-Anthony Towns’ lucrative contract extension.
After a 2021/22 season without too much relief, shared between San Antonio and Denver, Bryn Forbes effectively chose to continue his career with the ambitious Minnesota squad. Wolves who needed to strengthen their bench, following the departure to the Jazz of several important players in their rotation.
A singular profile, and complementary to the “Big Four”
« When I received the call to come here, my decision was made straight away, as the complementarity seemed obvious to me. » did he declare. « I feel that my qualities corresponded to what this team needed. »
His qualities in question are obviously his “off-ball” movements and his external address. With a superb average of 41.3% 3-point success (out of 4 attempts) since the start of his career in 2016, the former Spurs player indeed presents a unique profile in this pack of Wolves.
Alongside the D’Angelo Russell – Anthony Edwards – Karl-Anthony Towns – Rudy Gobert quartet who will constantly monopolize the attention of the defenses, the archer has in any case only one mission: to make himself available to receive the leather and draw behind the bow.
« I will light the fuse he said simply. ” There are so many talented players, they allow me to be open all the time. They attract so much attention. It might be one of the easiest jobs I’ve ever had to do. »
The formula indeed seems very effective so far: Wolves’ new marksman is 8/12 from behind the arc following three pre-season games.
