SpaceX Scrubs Falcon 9 Starlink Launch for the Second Night in a Row

SpaceX has called off its planned Falcon 9 Starlink launch from Kennedy Space Center for a second consecutive night. The scrub is due to an issue with the transporter erector’s cradle arms, which are responsible for bringing the rocket to an upright position. According to SpaceX, everything else seems to be in good condition. The company is now looking towards a possible launch attempt on Friday.

Exciting Day for SpaceX Despite Scrub

Thursday’s scrub came following an eventful day for SpaceX. The company celebrated its 22nd anniversary and also witnessed a successful Starship test flight from Boca Chica, Texas.

Multiple Scrubs in a Row

Thursday’s scrub marked the second consecutive scrub for this particular mission. SpaceX has not provided a reason for Wednesday night’s scrub.

Launch Details

Once the Falcon 9 lifts off, it will deploy a batch of Starlink internet satellites. These satellites are packed inside the fairing atop the 230-foot rocket.

No local sonic booms are expected during the launch. After liftoff, the rocket’s first-stage booster will attempt to land aboard a drone ship in the sea, approximately 8½ minutes following liftoff.

Future Launch Attempts

SpaceX is now working on rescheduling the launch and will announce a new launch day and time in due course.
