While rain and snow hit the province at the start of the week, the sun will peek out in southern Quebec starting Thursday. On the other hand, it won’t last, so it would be better to take advantage of it.
According to Patrick Duplessis, meteorologist, following two days of sunshine, the sky will be gray until the middle of next week, for at least “a good five days” in southern Quebec.
Thursday and Friday, nearly 14 hours of sunshine per day are expected with temperatures between 9 and 14 degrees in Montreal. Moreover, the thermometer will display values above seasonal norms from Friday April 26 to Tuesday April 30, so the freshness will give way to mildness!
On the other hand, the weather is taking a completely different turn this weekend. On Saturday, the amount of sunshine will drop at 6 a.m. while cloudiness will occur in the followingnoon in the south of the province. From Sunday until next Wednesday, Quebecers can expect less than four hours of sunshine per day, since the weather will be particularly cloudy.
A battle of air masses would be responsible
A mass of warm air is currently moving from the United States towards the north of the continent and might have an impact on the temperature in the south of the province early next week. However, the passage of a trough blocking the warm air might limit the impacts of this heat wave which might have brought summer temperatures to us. It is also the fresh air of this trough which will create a situation of combat of air masses over Quebec. This contrast will maintain disrupted weather in Quebec for a good part of next week, with several periods of rain.
