Meanwhile, Bahrain is in third place with 3 points. Dilmun’s Warriors won 1-0 over Australia, but were beaten 0-5 by Japan at home.

In total, the Garuda squad has met Bahrain 4 times since 2004. As a result, Garuda was only able to achieve one win and three defeats. Their only victory was in the 2007 Asian Cup. Indonesia beat Bahrain 2-1 in a match at the Gelora Bung Karno Stadium, Jakarta.

The last meeting between the two teams occurred in the 2014 World Cup qualifiers. Bahrain beat Indonesia 10-0 at the Bahrain National Stadium in 2012. This result also became a bitter memory for the Garuda Squad.

Indonesian National Team coach Shin Tae-yong is reluctant to think about the opportunity for revenge. STY admits that he is currently focused on getting maximum results in the Bahrain drums.

“Instead of thinking about revenge for the defeat, we should focus on the game,” said Shin Tae-yong, in a release received by detikSport.

“How can we show the game we like and the game we planned,” added the coach from South Korea.

The Bahrain national team actually won a landslide victory over the Indonesian national team in the last meeting. However, the Garuda squad warned that Dilmun’s Warriors was different!

Bahrain national team coach Dragan Talajic said there were three things he was wary of about the Indonesian national team, namely tight defense, smooth game transitions and the ability to launch dangerous counter-attacks.

“Indonesia is a team whose defense is very good. They faced Saudi Arabia and Australia and only conceded one goal,” said Talajic, as reported by detikSport from Gulf Daily News.

He said his team had to overcome these three things and focus on waiting for opportunities. Bahrain is also aiming for full points in that match.

“Their transitions and counter attacks were very good. We have to overcome that. Therefore we have to be patient, fully focused and wait for our opportunity,” he added.

In the match that will be held tonight, it is certain that the Garuda Squad will not fight alone. Thousands of supporters are sure to be ready to fuel the enthusiasm of the Garuda squad!

This was stated by Dadan Juarsa, as Coordinator of Garuda Qatar. A total of 1,200 supporters came from Garuda Indonesia’s Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC).

“The total number of tickets from Indonesian citizens in the GCC, who want to watch, is 2,200… From Qatar around 400, the rest are Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, United Arab Emirates, Oman and Kuwait,” said Dadan in a conversation with detikSport.

“We have prepared (the choreography). We (from Qatar) leave on October 9. The total seats for National Team supporters are around 2,000,” he added.

For your information, five days after fighting Bahrain, Indonesia will visit China’s headquarters. The match will take place at the Qingdao Youth Football Stadium.
