South Korea’s representative photographer Kim Joong-man passes away… 68 years old

Kim Joong-man, one of Korea’s leading photographers, passed away on the 31st. He is 68 years old.

According to the bereaved family, artist Kim passed away at around 10 am on the same day while fighting pneumonia.

Artist Kim graduated from Cholego in France and studied Western painting at the National University of Applied Arts in France.

In 1977, he received the Arles International Photography Festival Young Artist Award, the 2002 Fashion Photographer Award, the 2009 Mark of Respect Award, and the 2011 Korea Fashion 100 Years Awards Photo Category Award.

After that, he made his name known as a commercial photographer by taking fashion photos with famous stars.

Since 2006, instead of taking commercial photos, he has held exhibitions focusing on the work of capturing the beauty of Korea’s nature, including Dokdo, on camera.

The mortuary will be held on January 1 next year at the funeral hall of Korea University Anam Hospital. The funeral is on January 3 next year.
