While the current KTSSM system is operated on a fixed launcher, the new missile will be deployed on a mobile launcher, which enhances the maneuverability and survivability of the weapon.

The current KTSSM has a range of 180km with a 400mm caliber. Its upgraded version is expected to be larger with a range of regarding 300km.

Pyongyang showed off a range of weapons systems capable of targeting South Korea during a major military parade in Pyongyang on Feb.

These weapons include “super-large” multiple rocket launchers and 152 mm self-propelled howitzers, as well as the KN-23 missile modeled following Russia’s Iskander ballistic missile.
