On September 20, three sons and two daughters were born to a couple from Gyeonggi province, Kim Joon-young and Sagong Hye-ran.
According to the newspaper ‘Straits Times’, for the first time in the history of the country, these were five children born naturally. Previously, five children were born in 1987 and 2021, but their birth was made possible through medical fertilization.
According to Korea Jong Aung Daily, 31-year-old father Kim Joon-young said that before birth he lovingly named his children ‘Pangpang Rangers’, taken from the popular children’s TV show Power Rangers.
South Korean President Yoon Seok-yul congratulated the couple calling the children ‘Power Rangers’ and praised the medical staff for the birth of five children, a rare occurrence in the country.
