President Gustavo Petro landed on Tuesday morning on Brazilian soil to meet an appointment that he called Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva and which has been called the summit of South American presidents.
“Latin America has to play a united role and be a unified voice because it has great potential. It has in its territory several solutions to the integral crisis that humanity is experiencing, so this meeting has to do with qualifying that role and seeking a unified voice of Latin America.”, said President Petro upon his arrival in Brazil.
The summit of twelve South American leaders was convened by Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva and is taking place at the Itamaraty Palace, headquarters of the Brazilian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

The leaders of the region will seek to reach cooperation agreements on migration, drugs, energy transition, climate change, health, defense and fight once morest transnational crimes.
The leaders’ agenda began around 8:15 in the morning this Tuesday and will go until 4:30 in the followingnoon. On the table will also be the political crisis in Peru, unleashed by the frustrated coup attempt that Pedro Castillo wanted to carry out.
