The African country has submitted a new request to the International Court of Justice (ICJ), requesting the implementation of urgent additional measures once morest the Jewish nation due to the deteriorating situation in the Gaza Strip.
“In the new application, South Africa alleges that it ‘is compelled to reapply to the court due to recent developments and changes in the situation in Gaza – especially, the spread of famine – resulting from continued and flagrant violations […] on the part of Israel’,” the organization said in a statement.
The note also highlights “the continued violations of the provisional measures established by the court on January 26, 2024”.
Faced with this scenario, South Africa urged the ICJ to impose “additional provisional measures” or modify the measures indicated in its January decision urgently and without holding a hearing, due to the “emergency”. The South African presidential office confirmed the submission of the request to the ICJ.

At the opening, the African country said that Tel Aviv “subjects Palestinians to genocidal acts”. “Israel has a genocidal intention once morest the Palestinians in Gaza. This is evident from the way this military attack is being conducted.
