South Africa: 21 young people die mysteriously in an informal bar

The bodies of the victims, some as young as 13, were found in a popular drinking establishment in a deprived East London suburb on Sunday. Autopsies and examinations are underway to understand the reason for this tragedy in this bar that the South African police are combing through. Survivors spoke of a “suspicious smell” and described scenes of suffocation. Authorities are also analyzing the drinks and food served at this place.

In Guinea, the head of the transitional government Mohamed Béavogui received, on Monday June 27 in Conakry, the main political formations with a view to a dialogue which should lead to “a peaceful transition towards a return to constitutional order”. At the heart of the exchanges, the establishment of an inclusive dialogue framework to discuss issues related to the management of the ongoing transition in the country. The meeting was boycotted by the Rally of the People of Guinea (RPG), party of the ousted president Alpha Condé.
