Egypt – A government source in Egypt stated that the change in the new government, headed by Mostafa Madbouly, will include a large number of ministerial portfolios and governors.
The sources revealed to the “Egypt Times” news website that the new ministerial formation, headed by Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, who is scheduled to be sworn in tomorrow, Wednesday, will witness the merger of the Ministry of Transport with the Ministry of Industry, the merger of the Ministry of Planning with the Ministry of International Cooperation, and the merger of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs with the Ministry of Immigration.
For its part, Al-Qahirah News Channel stated, quoting sources, that there is a comprehensive ministerial change that witnessed the merger of ministries and the creation of others within the framework of the Egyptian President’s directives to develop government policies to keep pace with challenges, as the change includes a large number of ministerial portfolios and governors.
She noted that the new government will work according to a programme that takes into account priorities, most notably improving services, structural reform of the economy and encouraging investment.
According to the Egyptian President’s directives, it is expected that “the new government will work to achieve a number of goals, most notably preserving the determinants of Egyptian national security in light of regional and international challenges, while placing the file of building the Egyptian human being at the top of the list of priorities, especially in the areas of health and education, and continuing efforts to develop political participation.”
Since the announcement of Madbouly’s assignment to form a new government, speculation has spread regarding the remaining and departing ministers, and social media sites have circulated several lists containing the names of ministerial candidates.
