Needs clear red lines once morest right-wing extremism and racism
Vienna (OTS) – SOS Mitmensch announces that it will hold a protest rally once morest the ÖVP-FPÖ coalition in Lower Austria together with other organizations and committed individuals.
“It is a dangerous political breach that people like Udo Landbauer, who cheered anti-Semitic circles and promoted books with Nazi songs, and Gottfried Waldhäusl, who racially degraded schoolgirls, are now being rewarded with a coalition agreement,” says Alexander Pollak, spokesman from SOS Mitmensch, sharp criticism of the coalition agreement.
The protest rally will take place on the day of the constituent session of the Lower Austrian state parliament on March 23 from 8:00 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. in front of the Landhaus in St. Pölten. The early time, which is unfriendly to rallies, is necessary because from 10:00 a.m. the state parliament meets and then the so-called “ban mile” applies, which prohibits rallies in the vicinity of the state parliament, explains SOS Mitmensch. “We see the rally as a reminder that in a democracy it is important who builds a bridge to power. After Waldhäusl was promoted to the integration department, this is Johanna Mikl-Leitner’s second serious fall from grace,” Pollak said in the direction of the Lower Austrian governor.
SOS Mitmensch calls for clear red lines once morest right-wing extremism and racism to protect democracy. There must be negative consequences for right-wing extremists and racist actors, including being excluded from coalitions, according to the human rights organization.
