The friends of Padre Himalaya held their general meeting in the presence of the mayor, Yves Porteix. With 88 members, the association managed to maintain 4 out of 5 days of permanence in 2023, but solar oven demonstrations should be reduced to 3 out of 5 in 2024, and nothing says that we should not go further in front of the non-replacement of aging facilitators. However, although financial balance is assured to date, operating revenues do not allow the hiring of staff in addition to the members of the association to ensure these openings. In order to maintain the attractiveness of the site, it nevertheless has the investment funds necessary to maintain, or even develop, presentation materials as well as experiences, and can count on the involvement of members throughout the year. . With the exception of this question mark and concern, the 2024 prospects are just as dynamic: reception of associations and school groups from April, solar cooker workshops on April 13, cooking day and employment wild plants in food on April 14, construction of a solar cooker for the community, astronomy evening on August 2, continued development of the site, trip, cake, sun festival on June 8, etc. Aware that the solar oven has become an essential part of the image of the “solar by nature” commune, the leaders of the Friends of Padre Himalaya are looking for solutions and volunteers who might get involved in summer activities.
