The US actor Tony Sirico, best known for the mafia series “The Sopranos”, is dead. The actor was 79 years old. He died on Friday (local time) in a nursing home in the US state of Florida, his longtime manager Bob McGowan told the DPA news agency. The cause of death is not yet known. However, Sirico has suffered from dementia for several years, McGowan said.

“It is with great sadness but incredible pride, incredible love and many fond memories that the family of Gennaro Anthony ‘Tony’ Sirico would like to inform you of his death on the morning of July 8, 2022,” the family said on Facebook. “Sopranos” actor Michael Imperioli confirmed the friend of his “dear friend” and colleague.
