An 81-year-old woman fell into a coma following being hit by a police bike, which was accompanying Sophie, Duchess of Edinburgh, who is married to King Edward’s brother.
On Thursday, Buckingham Palace issued a statement on behalf of Sophie, the king’s nephew, Prince Edward, Duke of Edinburgh.
He said the Duchess’s heartfelt thoughts and prayers are with Hollande and her family.
“Sophie is grateful for the quick response by the emergency services, and will keep abreast of developments,” the statement read. “Further comments at this time would not be appropriate during the investigation of the incident.”
