Soon… “WhatsApp” will add this new feature

  • Soon… WhatsApp will add a new feature

WhatsApp has left users in a state of excitement following the emergence of a long-needed feature that might come to an Android phone.

The WhatsApp account was linked to a specific phone number. For people who have multiple phones (such as a personal phone and a work phone), this can cause problems because they will only be able to receive WhatsApp messages sent to their accounts on one device.

The world’s most popular chatting app has taken steps to address this, last year launching its much-anticipated multi-device feature.

This new feature allows the user to access their account across multiple devices.

However, WhatsApp accounts were still linked to a single smartphone, with additional devices that might access WhatsApp Web, WhatsApp Desktop and Portal platforms.

Fortunately, this week it emerged that WhatsApp is working on a 2.0 version of its multi-device feature that has just entered testing on Android.

As spotted by WABetaInfo, the revamped multi-device tool will allow WhatsApp users to access their accounts on a second phone or tablet.

To do this, WhatsApp users will have to head to Settings and go to a section of the user interface called “Register Device Companion.”

Currently, to link two devices together, WhatsApp users will need to point their main device at the screen of the other phone or tablet.

To connect the devices, the QR code that appears on the second device must be scanned.

Once you do that, you will be able to access your WhatsApp account on another smartphone or tablet.

At the moment, a release date for this highly anticipated feature has not been announced. But since the tool is currently under testing, we hope it won’t take long for it to be rolled out in the stable channel.
