Before Resident Evil (which is not new, however), there was Alone in the Dark: a legendary franchise in the video game world that will have given birth to several games and even a feature film. Imagine that the license might well make a comeback.
Better to be accompanied than alone
If the genre of horror is very widespread in the video game industry today, it had to start somewhere. One of its founding pillars was laid in 1992: it was moreover French and bore the sweet name ofAlone in the Dark. A real centerpiece at the time, for its innovative management of horror and also for its 3D polygonal technique which will have marked the spirits, experiencing multiple sequels and even a film adaptation.
Alas, the franchise will have struggled to endure and its latest titles will not have really made an impression. It doesn’t matter, it was bought in 2018 by THQ Nordic but hasn’t given anything new since: it may well be that his return will be announced in a few days, especially during the THQ Nordic Showcase. In any case, that’s what one of the most reliable insiders of these times seems to indicate.
A new game? A remake? A carry?
We owe the rumor of the day to The Snitch, a mysterious Internet user who likes to drop many big scoops for several months and who has acquired enormous credibility in a very short time.. The insider simply split a tweet, bearing the mention “Being afraid of the dark is what keeps most of us alive”.
Being afraid of the dark is what keeps most of us alive.

A sentence that is not insignificant since it is taken from the film Alone in the Dark, directed by Uwe Boll and released in 2005. Above all, when we know that THQ Nordic will hold its own showcase on August 12, we can then very seriously expect the return of the franchise. It now remains to be seen in what form: with a new episode? Or with a remake or a port, as fashion has wanted for a few years?
As a reminder, The Snitch had leaked the entire line-up of the last State of Play; he also revealed the name and release date of the remake of The Last of Us Part I and had also spilled the beans for Crisis Core : Final Fantasy VII Reunion. Among others. So many good reasons to believe a minimum in his words, although taking tweezers is always a necessity.
