Soon sensors implanted in the teeth to monitor his state of health live?

An American company specializing in the manufacture of medical devices has developed a “saliva diagnostic” sensor. This microscopic chip is installed on a molar and makes it possible to monitor the saliva of the people who wear it, continuously. The objective is to be able to improve medical diagnoses and more effectively monitor the health of users, report our colleagues from BFMTV.

“Saliva is an incredible diagnostic fluid”

If the company Lura Health has decided to focus on saliva, it is because it is an excellent indicator of people’s oral health but also of their more general state of health. Indeed, saliva can make it possible to detect cancers or Alzheimer’s disease.

“Saliva is an incredible diagnostic fluid and is used to test for over 1,000 health conditions. Health professionals even refer to saliva as the new blood of health diagnoses,” specified the American company on its site.

Bluetooth to transmit data in real time

This chip could communicate with a device via Bluetooth and thus offer users the possibility of monitoring their data in real time but also sending alerts in the event of alarming signals on their state of health. In addition, this device would be equipped with a battery to last over time.

The next step for Lura Health will be to obtain the green light from the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), the American authority responsible for clinical trials, with a view to the possible marketing of this chip within a horizon of 12 to 18 months.
