Soon in the shareholding of TV5 monde? –

The president of the transition, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguéma, discussed Monday with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of TV5 monde, Yves Bigot, the opportunities offered to Gabon to integrate the shareholding of the international French-speaking television channel, according to a press release from the Gabonese presidency.

In practice, the main beneficiary of this partnership proposed in Gabon would be national public television which would then see “its programs broadcast on the network of the various partner channels of TV5 and therefore to make the action of the executive visible on an international scale”.

The press release specifies that this partnership “would also offer the opportunity to the Gabonese Minister of Communication to sit at the ministerial conference and to the Director General of Gabon 1time to sit on the Board of Directors and participate in the governance of TV5 monde”.

The Libreville stay of the CEO of TV5 monde is part of an African tour aimed at integrating other member countries of La Francophonie, particularly African countries, into the channel’s shareholding on a partnership platform bringing together several international television channels.

On the continent, in addition to Gabon, TV5 monde would like in the future to expand its shareholding to certain States such as Benin, Cameroon, Congo, Ivory Coast, the Democratic Republic of Congo and Senegal.

TV5, which has been broadcasting around the world for 40 years, is currently managed by six (6) States: France, Switzerland, Canada, Quebec, the Principality of Monaco and the Wallonia-Brussels Federation.
