27 Delvalle, a municipal building located opposite the Pasteur hospital, will be remodeled to become a place of care. The on-call medical center (which already exists within the CHU) will be relocated there and a university health center will be created there. Good news for the population: it amounts to increasing the supply of care.
Hervé Caël, municipal councilor (subdelegated to the Maison de santé and to relations with health establishments) and regional president of the Order of Physicians, summarizes: “This is a project that brings together the CHU, the University and the City of Nice. On the one hand, the duty medical center is intended to receive unscheduled care. Thus patients who come to the emergency room but without criteria of seriousness therefore not requiring to be seen in this service are directed there. the CHU. This system therefore complements emergencies, and responds to the problem of saturation.”
The other side is the university nursing home. This time, “Patients will benefit from consultations scheduled by general practitioners, for chronic pathology follow-up, for information and prevention, etc. It is also a place that will be an asset for the training of interns in general medicine. “
In either case, the 27 Delvalle health version should offer a wide range of opening hours to the public. The opening date is not yet fixed but Hervé Caël talks regarding “the end of 2023.”
