Summer is here and the sun’s rays seem ready to cook us, especially when hot winds make people sick faster.
And air conditioner is considered to be the solution to this heat, but it is not an easy task to buy and install it in small houses.
But would you like to buy an AC that you can walk around wearing?
Sony last year developed a prototype wearable air conditioner that could be carried in a pocket while wearing a special T-shirt to use it.
This is the world’s first AC that you can wear and is now available to the general public, but for now only those living in Japan will be able to purchase it.
An AC called the Raven Pocket cannot actually be worn, but will be attached inside the garment.
The AC, called the Raven Pocket, will be placed in a pocket between the neck and waist of this special T-shirt, and the silent device will sit on the neck and emit thermoelectric cooling.
If the weather is hot, this AC will bring your body temperature up to 13 degrees, while in cold weather it will increase the body temperature to 8 degrees.
This device creates a sensation of cold and heat by absorbing or emitting heat, meaning it is both a Wareable AC and a heater at the same time.
However, this AC doesn’t work for long but works for 2 hours on a single charge which the company believes will be enough for daily commuting i.e. home to office and back from office to home.
The device can be charged with a USB cable while controlled by an Android or iOS app for cool or hot discharge.
The device was originally developed for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, but after being postponed until next year, Sony has now put it up for sale.
Its price has been set at 12,000 Japanese yen (more than 20,000 Pakistani rupees), while the special dress to wear will be available for 1800 yen (28 hundred Pakistani rupees).
As mentioned above, it is currently available in Japan and the company has not yet made any announcement regarding other countries.
