Sony ZV-E1 camera announced with 12 MP full-frame sensor and 4K recording

Sony announced this Wednesday (29) the model vlogging camera ZV-E1, new flagship model of the ZV lineup and the first to feature a 12 MP full-frame sensor —the same as the A7S III and FX3. With good features for photos and recordings in low light, the device also features the BIONZ XR image processor and is capable of recording video at a maximum of 4K at 60fps with 4:2:2 and 10 bits.

Compact and with a controllable viewfinder, the camera has a single SD card slot and a mini HDMI port. It’s smaller and lighter, has a dedicated zoom ring around the shutter, and has controls for easily adjusting depth of field and focus.

There’s also a new Cinemascope aspect ratio, which places black bars around the 16:9 frame to create a 21:9 image without the need for post-production effects. The set also includes Sony software features such as AI facial recognition that helps in framing multiple people in focus, stabilizer and automatic microphone directivity to detect the source of the sound.

The autofocus system is capable of detecting all sorts of people, animals, vehicles and objects, while maintaining a good field of view. The package is being sold in the international market for $2,199 for the body only, or $2,499 with a 28-60mm F4.5-5.6 zoom lens.
