A game that has been in development for three years has just been canceled. It had been entrusted by Sony to an external studio.
If Sony develops many exclusive games internally, the publisher does not hesitate to entrust some of its licenses to external studios. The British studio Sumo Digital had worked on several episodes of the Little Big Planet series. We learn today that the publisher would have entrusted the Final Strike Games studio – author of the sympathetic Rocket Arena – with the development of a shooting game.
The game was rumored to have been in development for a period of three years. The project would have been canceled along the way, when it was already at an advanced stage.
As a direct consequence of this cancellation, Final Strike Games would have announced the dismissal of 40% of its workforce. A blow for the studio, which was apparently betting big on this project…
