Sony’s chance at CES 2022 suddenlyReleasePart of the specifications of the next-generation PlayStation VR2, not surprisingly, will be compatible with PS5 consoles, and there will be a new VR2 Sense controller. As a VR helmet, it will have a resolution of 2,000 x 2,040 per eye, a 110-degree viewing angle, support 4K HDR, and will have an adaptive refresh rate of 90Hz to 120Hz.

PS VR2 will adopt the increasingly mature inside-out tracking method, which uses the built-in sensor of the VR device itself for positioning and calculates the relative position of the head and the controller, eliminating the need for an external positioning beacon. Sony also announced a new helmet feedback function, which is to add a motor to the helmet and synchronize the vibration in the game to bring a more immersive VR experience. For example, when the player’s blood volume is low, he can simulate a more obvious pulse beating, or even simulate a tingling scalp with something floating nearby. 3D sound effects and eye tracking will also be carried in PS VR2, so that the sound and the picture can interact like reality. As for the PS VR2 Sense controller, the core functions of the DualSense controller will be introduced, with vibration feedback and adaptive triggers.

Sony did not announce the date or price together this time, but revealed that it will use the “Horizon” IP to produce a new work “Horizon Call of the Mountain” as an exclusive demonstration content for PS VR2.
