Sony may launch Xperia smartphone with MediaTek Dimensity 8000

Japan’s Sony is rumored to launch a new Xperia smartphone equipped with a MediaTek chipset.

According to foreign media on the 4th (local time), a Sony smartphone with the XQ-DS99 model number was found on Geekbench, the longest benchmark platform.

This smartphone is equipped with specifications such as MediaTek Dimension City 8000 processor, 12GB RAM and Android 12 operating system. In the single-core and multi-core tests, they scored 867 points and 3484 points, respectively.

The Dimension City 8000 chipset, manufactured by TSMC in Taiwan using a 5-nm process, consists of four 2.75GHz A78 cores and four 2.0GHz A55 cores, and is equipped with a Mali-G610 GPU.

The name and release date of the new Sony smartphone have not yet been confirmed, but foreign media reported that “there is a possibility that it is a mid-to-high-end smartphone between the Xperia 5 IV and Xperia 10 IV.”
