Sony on Thursday introduced the Xperia 1 V, which would be the world’s first high-end smartphone with an all-new stacked CMOS image sensor, with dual-transistor layer pixels, it claims. It will cost 1399 francs from the end of June.

“The 24mm module on the back of the Xperia 1V features a stacked CMOS image sensor with dual-transistor layer pixels: dubbed ‘Exmor T for mobile’, it’s regarding 1.7 times larger than the previous image sensor. Plus, the 85-125mm (f/2.3-f/2.8) optical zoom helps create bright portraits with reduced distortion.
Sony’s ultimate standard boasts the power of a Snapdragon 8 Gen2. The power efficiency of the main processor has been improved by regarding 40% compared to the previous model. The Xperia 1 V will be launched in stores at the end of June at a price of 1399 francs. It will be available in black, platinum silver and khaki green.
