Sony is turning off the PS Plus and Now subscription extension before the new service arrives.

PARIS, April 29 (Benin News / EP) –

Sony has temporarily disabled the ability to extend the term of a current subscription to PlayStation Plus, PlayStation Now or both, to ensure that they do not accumulate when the new subscription service arrives.

This week, the tech company expanded on the arrival of its revamped PlayStation Plus service and what will happen to existing PS Plus and Now subscriptions. And he explained that anyone with both would be migrated to the premium version, with a new single payment date that will depend on the subscription that ends the latest.

This policy encouraged some players to add extra time to their existing memberships by stacking memberships, but they ran into a change introduced by Sony that prevents them from taking advantage of the more beneficial initial change.

So, the company reported in the FAQ section that it has. Temporarily disabled ‘Membership accumulation for existing customers’.“, a decision that will last until following the launch of the new service.

This change also affects discount codeswhich cannot be redeemed for users with an active account. They will remain valid and can be redeemed when the current subscription expires or is deactivated, or when the renewed PlayStation Plus becomes available.

PlayStation Plus will be available in Spain from June 22 and will include three subscription levels: Essential, Extra and Premium with different prices and benefits.
