Sony announces affordable WF-C700N wireless headphones

If you’re looking for a pair of wireless headphones on a budget, Sony has announced the WF-C700N – a pair of small, lightweight headphones that cost half the price of the hugely popular XF-1000XM4.


Featuring a 5mm driver and Sony’s DSEE (Digital Sound Enhancement Engine) technology, these little headphones promise punchy performance, with powerful bass and crystal clear vocals.

If you want a little more here or a little less there, Sony’s Headphones Connect app lets you adjust the EQ and set the level of noise cancellation on these headphones with just a few taps.

You can choose to enable noise cancellation or use Ambient Sound mode to keep an ear on your surroundings when you need it. There’s even a Focus on Voice setting, which lets you chat with someone without having to remove your headphones, or the Adaptive Sound Control option which can adjust noise cancellation levels on the fly.

As on the most expensive Sony headphones, this function is able to recognize where you are (workplace, gym or café) and adapt the sound mode accordingly. You can always override this feature if you want, but we’ve already been very impressed with how effective it is.

As for features, the WF-C700N offers IPX4 water resistance and multipoint Bluetooth for easy and automatic switching between two devices, as well as a battery life of 15 hours – 7.5 hours in use. use and 7.5 hours in case.
