New Delhi:

In a tragic turn of events, a 50-year-old woman was allegedly murdered by her son on the night of November 6, following a heated disagreement over his plans to migrate to Canada for work, police reported on Saturday.

The shocking incident unfolded in Molarband village, located in the Badarpur area of southeast Delhi, highlighting the extreme consequences of familial conflicts.

After committing the crime, the accused, identified as Krishna Kant (31), nonchalantly contacted his father, Surjeet Singh (52), urging him to return home immediately, authorities revealed.

Upon arriving, Singh was met with a surreal scene as his son sheepishly apologized and suggested he go upstairs to witness the horrific aftermath for himself, as described by Deputy Commissioner of Police (southeast) Ravi Kumar Singh.

As Singh ascended to the upper level of the residence, he was confronted with a devastating sight: his wife, Geeta, lying lifeless in a pool of her own blood, her body marked by multiple stab wounds. At this critical moment, the accused managed to escape from the scene.

In a desperate attempt to save Geeta, Singh rushed her to Apollo Hospital, but sadly, medical personnel pronounced her dead upon arrival, according to police reports.

Deputy Commissioner Singh further explained that the family consists of two sons, with the younger sibling, Sahil Bholi (27), employed at a bank, while Krishan Kant had no job prospects and battled drug addiction.

On the unfortunate day of the incident, it was noted that only Geeta and her son were present at their home during the altercation.

Later that evening, Krishan Kant was apprehended in the vicinity, leading to the filing of a murder case against him, law enforcement officials confirmed.

In the course of police interrogation, Kant divulged his aspiration to migrate to Canada, a plan that was repeatedly met with resistance from his family who insisted he first prioritize marriage.

The argument intensified that fateful evening, ultimately resulting in Krishan Kant stabbing Geeta with a knife he had procured prior to the incident, as revealed by investigators.

Singh, who is engaged in the property business with an office situated on Tanki Road in Jaitpur, now faces the unbearable loss of his wife and the shocking reality of his son’s actions, a heartbreaking case that has left the community in disbelief.
