(Seoul = Yonhap News) Reporter Hong-seok Ahn = Tottenham teammate Giovanni Rosselso (26) of Son Heung-min (30) will play once more for one season on loan at Villarreal, Spain.

Villarreal announced on the club’s website on the 15th (Korean time) that they had loaned Rosselso from Tottenham. His contract runs until the end of the 2022-2023 season.

As a result, midfielder Rosselso will be wearing Villarreal’s yellow jersey once once more in the midfield following the second half of last season.

After joining Tottenham from Real Betis in Spain in 2019, Rosselso struggled to compete in the starting lineup.

He was excluded from the plans of Antonio Conte, who took over at Tottenham last season, and was eventually loaned to Villarreal.

Rosselso, who already has experience on the Spanish stage, played as a regular at Villarreal and contributed to the UEFA Champions League semi-finals in the 2021-2022 season.

Rosselso returned to Tottenham on loan, but was still not part of Conte’s plans. He also did not participate in Tottenham’s pre-season Korea tour.
