Sometimes I ask to rest the players, but I did not do that against Pyramids.. and I want to be greedy

belbalady Al-Ahly coach Pitso Mosimane stressed that the team’s results in the various tournaments govern the relationship between him and the team that extended his contract a few days ago.

The South African coach has just signed a new contract with Al-Ahly that will keep him until 2024.

Musimani expressed his happiness with the renewal, saying, via On Time Sports, “I signed the contract and became burdened with many burdens. If the victories do not continue, the contract will be different.”

He added, “The contract is not a paper that we resort to in case of divorce, for example, but it is activated on the pitch. We spent a long time negotiating, but I am happy with the renewal and the team as well.”

He continued, “Al-Ahly is not a team that only participates in all the continental championships until the end, it has no choice but to cross the borders of the continent. Al-Ahly is the largest club in Africa, is there a team with a crowd of 70 million?”

Mosimane stressed his team’s readiness to face Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday in the African Champions League, just 4 days after its 3-0 victory over Pyramids in the Egyptian Premier League.

“I will be greedy,” he said. “I want to compete in all African competitions until the end.”

And he concluded, “Sometimes I ask to rest players, but I did not do it in the Pyramids meeting. Our players are professionals and know what they have to do. I have no problem playing the match against Sundowns a few days after facing the league.”

The South African coach hopes to retain the Champions League title for a third consecutive season.

The former Sundowns coach led Al-Ahly to the top of the continent in the last two seasons.

Al-Ahly is a guest of Sundowns on Saturday afternoon in a revenge meeting after losing in Cairo with a goal against the latter on February 26.
