Someone stop these prices

Someone should stop the high prices in restaurants and cafes.

I spent last weekend in Rome.

I was horrified when I compared restaurant and cafe prices with Istanbul. When you saw the prices on the menus in Istanbul, it was as if the Italians were not earning Euros, but the Turks were earning Euros.

I got all the vouchers I paid in the restaurants and cafes I went to in Rome for three days.

It makes no sense that the prices of the luxury restaurants and cafes I go to in Rome are the same as the ordinary places in Istanbul.

I was quite surprised that the money I paid for a croissant and a coffee in Rome was less than the price I paid for a cafe in Nişantaşı.

What was the cost of giving 75 TL for a croissant and 70 TL for a coffee in my beautiful Istanbul? Why did I have to pay twice the price in Istanbul when I was drinking a croissant for 2 Euros and a coffee for 2 Euros in Rome?

These prices, which were formed in Istanbul, did not change even according to the district anymore. Why were the prices in Nişantaşı and Bebek the same as in Zekeriyaköy?

While the tradesmen showed the price increase, they used the dollar as an excuse. But why did it need to revise its prices almost every week when the dollar did not increase?

Now the prices have become meaningless. These prices were already foreign to the middle pole and now they started to disturb the rich people.

While giving 9 Euros (200 TL) for a margherita pizza I ate in Rome, it seems illogical to give 300 TL in Istanbul. How can we explain that even pasta is more expensive in Istanbul than in Rome?

Do you think it is normal that turbot fish, which is sold at a fishmonger for 800 TL per kilo, is sold for 5 times the price of 4 thousand TL per kilo in a restaurant in Sarıyer that is famous for its turbot?

Doesn’t it surprise you that a family of 3 pays 12 thousand TL for 3 kilos of turbot and 15 thousand TL as an account in this restaurant?

With this account, 250 Euro per person in Istanbul is only surprising me when a fisherman’s account comes up?

In which city abroad have these prices! Wherever you go in the world, the account you will pay at a luxury restaurant does not exceed 100 Euros per person. That’s what makes sense.

Another problem of Istanbul is parking and valet fees. The valet fees charged when you leave your car at hotels and restaurants are astronomical. It starts from 200 TL.

The time of the car parks is 100 TL. Even in Rome, it costs 2 Euros (80 TL) per hour. How do we explain that the Ispark fee in Yenikapı is more expensive than in the center of Rome?

I can’t help but write the price of a place that applies a ridiculous price on valet fees. The valet fee of Shangri-La Bosphorus Hotel in Beşiktaş is 475 TL. Will we agree to these prices? Are we going to compete with Europe at these prices?

When we compare even the minimum wage with Italy-Turkey, the minimum wage in Italy is 1,300 Euro, in Turkey it is 8,506 TL (375 Euro). 3.5 times.

It’s time for someone to say stop to these prices in our country when there is such a gap in between.

When I say that someone should say stop, I do not mean the government. I am calling out directly to the owners of restaurant and cafe businesses.

At these prices, you can only earn from Arab tourists, you have already cut off the feet of local customers. With the decrease in Arab tourists, it is very difficult for you to serve domestic customers at these prices. Do not forget that you need local customers in the long run.

RUSSIA IS BLACK LISTED

One of the issues that caught my attention the most in Rome was the sanction of luxury stores on Russia.

The luxury brands you shop in Rome not only charge the price of the product you buy, but also make you sign a paper and impose sanctions.

They give you the product you bought on one condition. It is forbidden to directly or indirectly sell, supply, transfer or export the product you have paid for to any real or legal person, institution or organization in Russia for use in Russia.

They also gave numbers. It is valid for the goods you buy over 300 Euros.

In order to buy products above this amount, you must declare that you undertake under your responsibility and sign under the document prepared.
