The adoption of cryptocurrencies continues to grow, and supporters of the sector are using various means to raise awareness of digital currencies such as bitcoin (BTC). It was no different this weekend in Berlin.
On January 21, the iconic tower of the Berliner Fernsehturm in Berlin was illuminated with the bitcoin logo as part of an campaign, Documenting Bitcoin reports.
The group or person behind the initiative has yet to be identified, but a user named Tilo Neumann was fond of promoting the campaign on Twitter. Among the tweets, Neumann also shared a video of the projected bitcoin logo.
“Berlin is certainly not rich, that’s probably true. Nevertheless, we want to draw attention to bitcoin. After all, it is regarding our financial future. Some sit on the street and say “we decided to do it differently” said Neumann.
This is not the first time the logo has been projected onto the monument. According to Neumann’s tweet, the first attempt to project the logo failed due to bad projectors.
The Berliner Fernsehturm is a major tourist attraction and a symbol of the German city. The 368 meter high tower offers a fabulous view of Berlin. Many in the crypto community believe that the projection of the logo on the Berliner Fernsehturm tower highlights the growing acceptance, importance and familiarity of bitcoin.

According to Neumann’s Twitter activity, he has also participated in other campaigns in which he promoted bitcoin on historic buildings and locations. Last November, for example, the logo was projected onto the Berlin Wall.
“There is nothing in Berlin as steeped in history as the Berlin Wall. That’s why we implemented our campaign here this time. This place represents endless suffering. Bitcoin, on the other hand, represents hope, the hope of a just and free world.” – He told.
The bitcoin logo has appeared not only in Berlin. In September 2020, bitcoin posters were pasted at the tram stop in front of HSBC’s Hong Kong headquarters. Advertisements by the Hong Kong Bitcoin Association of Hong Kong (BAHK) sponsored.
And in May 2021, the Bank of England building in London was projected along with the logo: “Bitcoin will solve that.”
