Despite inflation, Quebecers still seem to be at the rendezvous in shopping centers, and some are even spending more, observes the founder of the Tristan boutiques, Gilles Fortin.

“People pay the full price, without discussing,” said Gilles Fortin in an interview with QUB radio on Thursday. He explains that his prices have not increased, however, and that he has fewer sales than before.
“Sales are up because of the amount of purchases,” he said at the microphone of Philippe-Vincent Foisy.
Gilles Fortin affirms that he has just concluded his best quarter in life even if there are not as many customers as before in his stores. Customers who go there, however, spend more.
A situation that may seem paradoxical when many Canadians are hit hard by the effects of inflation.
Mr. Fortin believes that businesses like his meet a public need: “It’s important for consumers. They need to eat and they need to be beautiful”.
The one who has gone through significant financial hardships in the past says to remain very cautious for the future of the Tristan stores. He explains that the pandemic has allowed them to “redo [leurs] homework”.
